Pediatric Dental Expansion
Launches in Anchorage
Introducing 12 state-of-the-art restorative pediatric dentistry suites and digital imaging panels to drastically reduce appointment wait times for customer-owner children.
Southcentral Foundation’s dental program has officially opened its newly expanded Restorative Pediatric Dental Suite, housing 12 state-of-the-art operatory chairs, digital radiography setups, and custom comfort panels designed specifically to create a quiet, reassuring, and culturally welcoming clinic space for Alaska Native and American Indian children.
The expansion—located inside the Fireweed Dental Building on our Anchorage campus—doubles our capacity to schedule pediatric restoration procedures (such as crowns, cleanings, and specialized fillings). By adding 12 fully equipped suites, the primary goal is to drastically reduce appointment wait times for customer-owners and ensure children receive timely care.
Care circles helping children build comfortable, positive relationships with oral hygiene.
Dental health plays a foundational role in childhood physical wellness and overall nutrition. By expanding our restorative suite, Southcentral Foundation ensures pediatric dentists, hygienists, and support assistants can work in highly integrated circles to deliver relation-based care.
Nurturing Healthy Relationships with Clinical Care
In the Nuka System of Care, clinical procedures are co-managed alongside families. Pediatric dental specialists take the time to talk through steps with children and parents, using Dena'ina storytelling concepts and comfort tools to alleviate anxiety.
“Our care circle model shifts a typical dental checkup into a supportive, encouraging experience for the child,” explained a pediatric dental hygienist. “By creating a dedicated space where kids feel completely safe, we help them build lifelong relationships with healthy habits.”
